“Everybody Street illuminates the lives and work of New York’s iconic street photographers and the incomparable city that has inspired them for decades. The documentary pays tribute to the spirit of street photography through a cinematic exploration of New York City, and captures the visceral rush, singular perseverance and at times immediate danger customary to these artists. Covering nine decades of street photography, “Everybody Street” explores the careers and influences of many notable photographers––a number of whom have never been documented, featuring: Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Jill Freedman, Bruce Gilden, Joel Meyerowitz, Rebecca Lepkoff, Mary Ellen Mark, Jeff Mermelstein, Clayton Patterson, Ricky Powell, Jamel Shabazz, Martha Cooper, and Boogie, with historians Max Kozloff and Luc Sante."

Bruce Davidson is an American photographer. At the age of 10 his mother built a darkroom in their basement, and straight away Davidson started taking photos. Davidson started going to see a local photographer who taught him about lighting and printing skills.
Davidson was influenced by many people, two of them people were - Robert Frank and Eugene Smith. When Davidson was just 16 he won his 1st major photography award. One of his projects were also displayed in the museum of modern art. Bruce Davidson did a classical portrayal of the New York subway system ,in the late 1970's,using colour to convey mood,he documented a gritting and lively urban underworld. The photographer took alot of risks while taking many of his photographs and you can see this by some of the scenes. Also in alot of his photographs there is quite a lot of the colour red, everything is also quite light in the photographs when at the actual scene it would be quite dark and dim. |

Bruce Davidson
I am not interested in showing my work to photographers any more, but to people outside the photo-clique. My pictures are not escapes from reality, but a contemplation of reality, so that I can experience life in a deeper way.
I liked this photograph by BRUCE DAVIDSON because one thing it shows is how people started to smoke at such young ages.. if you look at most of his photos you would be able to see that most of them include a child or young adult smoking, even if they aren't the main person in the picture, they could be in the background somewhere.

What I learned about street photography from the film 'Everybody Street'
- They use quality cameras and sometime stands for the camera, also they may need to use flash at times.
- Some are interested by the violence that goes on it the street.
- They like seeing the good things that go on in the streets but also like showing some of the bad things that go on like, gangs with violence, people who are homeless,etc.....
- Each time they take a photograph they are getting closer and closer to violence but they are willing to take that risk.

My Firts Set of Photographs
Evaluation
taking the photos worked well for me and i enjoyed it too.i think they came out well and the app we used helps the effect work more better with the photos the i took.
ebi, i could try and use some different apps to take the photos on to give a different effect. or even put the original photo next to the one that has effect on.
next time i would like to try use the cameras to see if it makes a difference on the photos, also this would mean i get to have experience with the different tech.

My Second Set of Pictures
I think my second lot of photos worked better then the first. Instead of taking all front normal shots i took them from different angles such as,side, front, under and on top.
The photos worked well, some of them i forgot to use the focus, but when i did they came out alright.Even when the photos weren't in focus they still came out clear enough for us to tell what he photo was of.
This is a quote from a photographer who is very experienced, Bruce Davidson
"Taking photographs, taking candid photographs, means that the photographer is an invisible man. Whereas there is still a feeling that in having a photograph taken there is loss of face: something of the soul is gone."
