I chose to use these these photos because I personally, thought they were the most interesting ones that I could see, they made the definition of absurd more clear. They are all different in their own way but they all represent the same thing. They are also all taken by different people.

First set of pictures.
- (HIDE.)
Some of these pictures I know are a little out of focus but i uploaded them as my first set. The idea for these pictures was obviously to hide people. After i took them, i chose to edit them in preview. Only to edit the sharpness and saturation.
- "Hide".
These photos were based on the topic "hide". To be honest we just used whatever we could find, once I found the cones, I kept wanting to use them, forgetting that I was going to use different things aswell. These photographs worked better then the first set because I used the focus lens more, and made sure the camera was focused before taking to picture.
-Damilola Oshilaja
This is a photograph by Damilola Oshilaja, a practicing artist from grunge studios. I liked this photo because it shows something natural, its a normal human thing. Its also still absurd because people don't usually take photos like this, i like how there is a picture of the girl with no clothes on infront of the girl with clothes on. The photo hasn't jus been published how it is, its been blown up into a bigger size and put in frame then the artist took a photo of it again to publish it. |
-Signs.
I forgot to change the filter on the camera so the photos came out black and white. I think it still worked well though, just some on the writing in a couple of the pictures are a little faded. For my next set i will make sure to change the filter so the colours will stand out, as i used different colour pens and post sticks, but it was only after i realised there was no point.
My photographs.
I tried to make it look like the things in these photographs were actually happening, when really the people in the photos were standing in different places, one was further behind then the other one.
- The last photo came out really dark because the camera was facing the window, but i still like the way it came out, because you cant see who the people in the photo are. |
- Trial photos.
I tried to make these pictures look like they were the right way how they should be, by rotating the image i took in a different angle. I think next time i might try a different idea as i dont the sitting down photographs worked that well, so i could do some more "hanging on to" photos as they seem to work out better.
-Plan.
- This is my idea i thought i could do. If it worked then i am going to use it for my final piece. - I am going to have someone hiding but have half their body sticking out from behind the pole. Then use photoshop to crop a black picture of the background to cover the other half of their body. - For the second idea i'm going to take just a normal photo of someone sitting on a chair, and then edit it again on photoshop and crop something over their head, like a shape or another picture. |
- Alec Sloth.
Alec sloth is an artist who take selfies but while covering his face in some way or another.
{first attempt}.
I wanted these pictures to look like they were just focusing on one part of the head at one time, I think this worked well because we can see how different peoples facial features are. I like the ones with the ears when you can see the different piercings and the earphones and theres just the one plain one.
Before.
- For these images i am going to put faces over faces. I will edit the photographs in photoshop and place another photo over to top to replace the original faces.
- Pictus interruptus.
Ray K. Metzker, American, 1931 - 2014
The Pictus Interruptus series, begun in 1976 during a sabbatical from teaching at the Philadelphia College of Art (now The University of the Arts), boasts some of the most visually intriguing imagery of Metzker's lengthy career. In this body of work, small props fashioned in the studio are integrated with outdoor vistas: by holding the objects close to the camera lens, Metzker disrupts the view of the background. These lyric and sometimes jarring compositions border on the abstract through an emphasis on extremes such as near and far, blur and focus, dark and light. |
Exam pics.
For these pics I used a Canon camera an put a Kaleidoscope to make the picture go all funny shapes. For the first 3pictures I held a piece of cut up paper in front of the camera and tried to arrange the focus lens.
These are just my first set of photographs that I tried to do with the view finder. I am going to do another set but this time try getting a better focus on one thing at a time, either the background or the view finder. I like the way the lighting colour is different when the photos were taken inside and out.
I think these photos worked great, some had sir's hand in, but it still looked good, I like the way the focus is. It looks like the photo was being taken but something keeps getting in the way. The ones of the ping pong table worked well as you can still see the texture of the edges and the rain drops even when the piece of wire was in the shot.
I liked the idea of using black and white for these images to bring more effect. i left two of them in colour because they stood out more then they did without colour. In some of the photos the lighting from the sun looks nice coming through the thin trees.
This is the piece of wire I used in the photographs to make it look like it was in the way of the picture. I held it infront of the camera but still focusing on the background I moved it around and took several pictures. I moved to different places to take the photos, where the light was different and also where there were different objects. |
